Fight between flamingos - (Phoenicopterus roseus) - I photographed these flamingos, in the lagoons of Cagliari, in a belligerent attitude, with their long tense necks, to defend their fishing territory. Nikon D 850, Sigma SuperTele 300-800mm, f/7.1, 1/2500 sec., ISO 200. Thanks for your comments

Hi Giangiorgio,

you've captured a unique moment here! While the other flamingos go about their business, two are showing aggressive behavior towards one bird that is obviously not welcome in 'their' fishing grounds. The stretched necks and the moving feathers on their back add dynamics to the scene, necessary to make the viewer understand what's happening. Beautiful colors and excellent DoF. Kind regards, Vincent

Grazie mille Vincent for your careful observation and description of this image. I have observed several times the fighting behavior of these flamingos, perhaps due to an adrenaline rush the feathers are always erect, perhaps to appear larger, ciao Giangiorgio

not only is it an excellent photo, but also the position in which they are captured is special. Also, the white-blue contrast works so well here. Congratulations always for the beautiful photos and the world of birds shown for us.
