the lighthouse at Murano

On the isle of Murano in the Venetian Lagoon off the Adriatic there is a lighthouse - the Faro dell’Isola di Murano. Once just a wooden tower with a lit fire on top reflected by mirrors, now a beautiful structure of white Istrain stone. Its occulting light repeats a dark period of 6 seconds or a little less than one of my breaths in my tranquil time on this island.

I've never been to Murano, but the coarse brushstrokes and the colors of this image leave a vivid impression on me, almost as if I witnessed this scene. Although not being very conspicuous, the (almost) central placement of the building and the lighthouse work well here. I have noticed I particularly like the images of yours where there's some distance to the people in them. I like the perspective on both sides of the building as well. Great work!
