vincentoiseau 83 Posted July 25, 2022 When you see Forsythia flowers, spring has arrived; it's sometimes called 'easter tree'. It appears to belong to the olive family Oleaceae. The genus is named after William Forsyth (1737–1804), a Scottish botanist who was a royal head gardener and a founding member of the Royal Horticultural Society (Wikipedia). Its bright yellow flowers can be quite overwhelming, especially when seeing a blossoming tree that can reach 6m of height. There is only one European species and no less than ten in Asia. Giangiorgio Crisponi 498 Posted July 25, 2022 This fantastic cluster of Forsythia flowers stands out very sharp and well lit against a blurred background. As always, your accompanying note is very interesting, ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment

Wayne Sadler 609 Posted July 28, 2022 The light and dark of the shadows top left put the stamp of Oiseau on this creation. Excellent work, Vincent. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted July 28, 2022 The lighting is mesmerizing, Vincent. It runs the gamut of shadow, midtone, and highlight, which can't help but to draw the viewer in. I'm also impressed with the colors; despite the predominance of the gold of the petals, the green of the large bud in the top left of the array of blooms is an exceptional offset. Most impressive! - - My best always, michael Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted July 29, 2022 Hi Wayne, thank you for your comments and appreciation! I had to chuckle when I read that the 'light and dark of the shadows top left put the stamp of Oiseau on this creation'. The play of shadow and light obviously is an identifying mark of my work. vincentoiseau 83 Posted July 29, 2022 Hi Michael, thank you so much for your comments and continuing support! I knew the exposure was correct on this one, but it's funny you mention the green of the bud of the cluster of flowers; I didn't pay much attention to that. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
