Flamingos at dawn - (Phoenicopterus roseus) - I photographed this group of flamingos with the warm colors of the first sunrise, which accentuate the pink hues of these birds. Nikon D850, Sigma 150-600mm, f / 8, 1 / 1000sec, ISO 110. Thanks for your comments.

Hi Giangiorgio,

the dawn colors really make this capture stand out. It's amazing to me how close to an urban area you have shot this. Well done! Kind regards, Vincent

Thanks Vincent for your visit and for the nice comment much appreciated. Cagliari is lucky enough to be surrounded by lagoons where thousands of flamingos live. In this period about 20,000 flamingos are nesting, and it is possible to admire them from the upper parts of the city. From my window I too can see the whole pond now "Molentargius National Park" and I follow the nesting from home, ciao Giangiorgio

Giangiorgio, aside from Vincent's astute remarks which I endorse, I noted several possible moods. To me, the bird to the right of the others conveys a bit of alienation, as if it's been kicked out of the flock. It also communicates a bit of sadness. - - My best always, michael - - - Ciao!

Thanks a lot Michael for your interesting comment. That flamingo you pointed out hasn't been kicked out of the group, it's still sleeping with its head folded, ciao Giangiorgio

The natural "spotlight" is on the flamingos. The birds, the reflections, and the mood are all very beautiful. Cheers.
