michaellinder 16,613 Posted January 22, 2022 Warren. your apparent proximity to this sandhill crane (common in SE Florida) is due either to your bravery or to a long-range lens. The first time I was in the presence of such magnificent birds was in Sebring, Florida; a close friend let me know that I was in the danger zone. The image clearly demonstrates the bird's beauty, especially its saucer-like eyes. If this were my image, I would have slightly darkened the white feathers, which currently have only hints of detail.
