vincentoiseau 83 Posted December 30, 2021 This extreme (and cropped) close-up of the end of a USB cable was lit from above to have some of the characteristics of a human face. Seeing the picture again, I realise I should have chosen a somewhat less used cable for this; it has a lot of wear and tear as you can see. Your comments are very welcome. Happy new year! Giangiorgio Crisponi 475 Posted December 30, 2021 The wear of the cable makes this human face with an aging appearance full of wrinkles, the orientation of the light and the B&W make a dramatic atmosphere, You made good use of the old equipment, ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted December 31, 2021 Hi Giangiorgio, thank you for these insightful comments! I hadn't thought of wrinkles yet. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment

vincentoiseau 83 Posted January 2, 2022 Hi Franz, thank you for your interesting comments! I don't know what irritates you about the 'mouth', but I promise I won't photograph it again soon. I wish you all the best for this year too. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
michaellinder 16,612 Posted January 9, 2022 Vincent - - You've completed another journey into the abstract which was aided by your technical expertise and artistic flair. In my opinion, Franz's "irritate" misses the boat. The image proves that simplicity in subject matter and presentation is often the best choice. It reminds me that I need to consider this approach more carefully and more often. - - My best always, michael Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted January 9, 2022 Hi Michael, thank you for your comments on this picture! I think Franz didn't mean anything else than to say the 'mouth' has kind of an irritating shape, which I can completely understand. He also liked the picture. I'm happy to see that you (of course) also recognize the effectivity of simple subject matter; I agree we should look at things more often this way. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
