Great Blue Heron Fly By

Brian Murphy

Lucky shot. I was trying for still shots when the bird suddenly flew. Taken at a pond near home.

Outstanding capture Brian! I really like the positioning of the wing showing all of the feather details, and the golden water is such a beautiful backdrop. Well done! Todd

Thank you Todd and Giangiorgio. This was a lucky shot. I was down one one knee trying to get a still shot and I was in one shot focus so I could not track the bird. He/she suddenly flew and I just quickly aimed over my shoulder as I spun and hoped for the best. The bird flew in and out of the shade and the yellow is the afternoon sun reflecting on the water. Things just went well that day. My dog even sat at my side and did not try to move during this. That is a rarity in itself. Be safe.
