Todd Kraenzel 1 Posted September 21, 2021 Patrick, a beautiful flower that is definitely worth the annual wait to photograph! I really like the way the lighting brings out the soft whites and yellows of the flower. Well done! Todd Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 498 Posted September 21, 2021 wonderful image of this flower of Selenicereus grandiflorus, In Italy it is called the "Queen of the night" because it blooms in the dark and lasts a few hours until morning , ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
patrickcompagnucci 30 Posted September 21, 2021 Thank you Todd. It's a beautiful flower and the aroma is amazing. I know the minute it blooms because our living room is filled with it's scent. Best regards, Patrick Link to comment
patrickcompagnucci 30 Posted September 21, 2021 Thank you Giangiorgio. My wife's grandmother who was Italian, and the original owner of the plant, used to call it the "Midnight Queen". We took a cutting from her 40 years ago and it's still in the family. Best regards, Patrick Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted September 21, 2021 Hi Patrick, a well composed photo with a suitable dark background and a beautiful DoF. Only flowering for a few hours each year makes this a pretty special plant, which I remember from a photo on your porch last year. The story of your wife's grandmother and the plant being in the family for such a long time already adds to the whole. Very nice work! Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
