Not far from my home, there is this power plant. It is not particularly beautiful or interesting from an aesthetic point of view; photographing it was not on my list of subjects to photograph, but when I passed it one early October evening and saw it in the bluish light of dusk with a half moon between the fumes of the chimneys, I couldn't resist. The photo came out better than I expected (as I didn't have a tripod with me), thanks to the lens' image stabilization. Your comments are very welcome.

Wonderful picture, Vincent! The blue hour and this object are beautifully captured! This image makes some associations with industrial landscapes of the early 20th century. Especially with Soviet ones, with the presence of large structures, pipes and a lot of smoke. In your case, the power plant looks cleaner. The upper part of the image looks like a watercolor. Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana

Vincent, you got it at perfect light. It would be less interesting at sunshine. And the moon is the highlight. Well done. Regards, Franz

A big wow, to be sure, Vincent. You took total; advantage of the muted colors and soft contrast that dusk provides. Aside from what Tatiana and Franz stated, I must point out that the close juxtaposition of the smoke from the right-hand chimney in the background to the half moon gives the entire frame not only a fabulous look but also a serious air of enchantment. - - My best always, michael

Hi Franz,

thank you very much for your kind comments! You are right; normally I wouldn't even consider photographing this, but the light and the half moon made it irresistible. Kind regrads, Vincent

Vincent, I envy your steady hand to take the picture in these light conditions. Your trained photographic eye couldn't miss this photo. The dreamy atmosphere linked to the bluish light and the half moon in the smoke is fantastic , ciao Giangiorgio

Hi Giangiorgio,

thank you for your friendly comments! I'm afraid my hand isn't as steady as it was when taking this photo. The image stabilization certainly played a role too. I'm glad you like the atmosphere of the image. Kind regards, Vincent
