Abundance

If there is a sure sign that spring has really set in, it must be the blooming of cherry trees. The sheer number of flowers on a tree is amazing and they are tightly packed together in clusters as the one in this photo. Another quality of these trees is the way the branches seem to grow in strange shapes in order to get as many flowers on the outside of the tree gathering sunlight. And then there's the exuberant colors. Your comments are very welcome.

Bravo Vincent, you have well photographed this spring abundance, the enlarged image well highlights all the details of the beautiful pink flowers in the foreground. I don't see bees or insects around. Unfortunately, in many Italian regions this year there was an early flowering and the following frost destroyed the flowers and buds with considerable damage. ciao Giangiorgio

I am in no way a specialist in the field of trees, but I believe this is the prunus serrulata or Japanese cherry (Sakura) indeed, a species that has many subspecies. Which one this is, I don't know. I'm glad you like the image. Kind regards, Vincent
