On a long train journey from Rome to Utrecht (the Netherlands) we stopped in Milan in the late afternoon. The stop was very short, but I was very impressed with the architecture of the train station, so I had to make a photo quickly. I had a roll of Kodak Tri-X pan in my camera, which I developed to have a lot of grain (I would not do that again now). I slightly cropped the scan to eliminate disturbing details from the shot. Your comments are very welcome.

Vincent....You are digging in your photo treasure box to pull out choice shots as this one.The coarse grain enhances the vintage flavour of this shot of the impressive domed architecture!...pull out some more from the box for our pleasure!Take care et salutations-Laurent

Hi Laurent,

thank you for your comments and appreciation! I will certainly pull out some more of the box, which actually is a very large collection of film strips that have to be scanned. That takes time, so you will see 'new' old photos every now and then. If I hadn't done it before, I wish you and your loved ones all the best in 2021! Kind regards, Vincent

Hi Patrick,

thank you so much for commenting! "I guess it's my age showing", nah, you're not that old. I think it's more a matter of the architecture and the mood in this image being likable factors. Or maybe we're all getting old :) Kind regards, Vincent

On holiday as a child in the early 60'ies, nevertheless it is exactly what I saw, when I came to Milano Centrale. I remember precisely the atmosphere now thanks to your picture.

Hi ZT,

thank you for your friendly comments! This photo was made in a 'lost' moment, stopping at Milan central station on a journey. Such moments can become important later on. I wish you all the best in 2021 too! Kind regards, Vincent
