The light hit these purple thistle seeds beautifully, resulting in a spectacle of soft and prickly plant parts. I'm using the Sigma 150-600 mm, which obviously is a tele-zoom lens, more and more for other purposes than bird- and wildlife photography. I like the unexpected versatility of this rather large lens. Your comments are very welcome.

Hi Tatiana,

thank you for your very nice and encouraging comments! It's not that I'm only experimenting these days, but I do try to add some aspects to my photography every now and then. Not necessarily new endeavors, but stuff to refresh my photographic routine. Kind regards, Vincent

Hi Laurent,

thank you for your friendly comment! Yes, this scene was busy; this is the most tranquil view I could come up with (thanks to the long focal length). I'm glad you like it. Kind regards, Vincent

A very beautiful and well defined image that allows you to see the finest details, good the light and colors.( I also bought this Sigma, much more versatile than the Sigma 300-800, which weighs almost 7 kg and I am satisfied with it), ciao Giangiorgio

Hi Giangiorgio,

thank you for your friendly comment and appreciation! The 150-600 mm is an amazing lens, although I've also noticed some characteristics that I don't consider so great, like the focusing speed. For birds-in-flight shots this lens is not a great performer, but maybe that's too much to expect from a relatively cheap lens. Kind regards, Vincent

Hi Patrick,

thank you for your amiable comment! I'm beginning to think this lens is better equipped for close-up photography than for fast telephoto use. Its focusing speed leaves something to be desired, or maybe I'm not used to it enough to make the best of it. Kind regards, Vincent
