These leaves were changing in color before most of the plants and trees are, an announcement of autumn. I photographed this with a Pentacon 135 mm 2.8 lens from around 1968 with a macro ring. This lens has exactly the same optical design as the Meyer 135 mm 2.8 Orestor with a 15-blade aperture that ensures creamy bokeh and has beautiful color rendition. I mainly use modern lenses, but every now and then I go out and make some photos with a vintage lens; it helps the flow of creativity. Your comments are very welcome.

An interesting approach to the creative process, Vincent! I like this delicious fall color treat, prepared according to an old recipe. Welcome your experiments, Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana

Hi Tatiana,

thank you for your encouraging and very nice comments! To me, it's a way to take a sidestep on the path you choose usually; by using old equipment, you force yourself to take all kinds of decisions, which in turn bring new pportunities. Kind regards, Vincent

Hi Vincent, I like it when a photographer takes the time to explain the set up and thinking behind an image, just makes it that much better. A beautiful, simple and well presented image.......................Best Always, Holger

Hi Holger,

thank you for your friendly comments! The thought behind photos like this one is simply to let go of the things you're used to and know thoroughly. New, sometimes unexpected results may come from it. Kind regards, Vincent

A well programmed and very well made photo. The contrast between the complementary colors red and green enhance the image. Brightly focused autumn leaves stand out well against a gorgeous background. Your accompanying notes are precious. ciao Giangiorgio

Hi Giangiorgio,

thank you for your well-worded comments who are more precious to me than my accompanying notes. Although the colors in the image come very close, in reality the color variation was spectacular. Kind regards, Vincent
