Wayne Sadler 611 Posted March 14, 2020 Wow. Another museum piece. Tint, hue, texture, design with the master's touch. Into my favorites, Daniel. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted March 14, 2020 Gee, how did I know this was yours!? I'm a bloodhound that can sniff out your pictures from the pack. They all have your distinctive scent and are the unique product of your vision of the world; there's nothing remotely like them. Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted March 15, 2020 Dear Gentlemen, dear friends: I dare call you so, as by now time has passed and has, fortunately, kept us chatting around Photography and around each other's work. I thank you sincerely, each one of you, Wayne, Arthur, Franz, and Jack. Your comments, at the same time, uplift my spirits and humble me, as I realize they bring up not only a response but, as short or long as they may be, eliciting an emotion. Link to comment
Wayne Melia 6,083 Posted March 15, 2020 Commendable on multiple intertwined levels. Technically excellent with the management and inclusion of great contrast, both 'brightness' and chroma to grab attention. The details flesh out the textures to create an immersive reward. Given these to work with, the (this) viewer responds on contradictory ways, fascination and revulsion, and that contradiction is the strength. Abhorence of the slimy texture, revulsion of the violence of the teeth, shock at the immediacy of the dead eyes. Fascination with the detail of the shape(S) of the fins, amazement at the roundness and color of the eyes, perfection of the scales.... .Awe at the existence of this in nature. Aside from the reality, it is a wonderful exploration of color and shape Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 611 Posted March 16, 2020 Could Wayne become the official PN critic? I kept saying Amen as I read the brilliant analysis. Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted March 16, 2020 Dear Wayne and Wayne. You do me great honor with your kind words. I take them humbly and sincerely. My greatest reward is to receive comments (good or bad) from viewers. Now you can imagine how I feel regaled with your comments, as they come from seasoned, avid and experienced great photographers as you; clearly showing you took time to delve into the photo. Thank you, and thank you once again. Sincerely. DG Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted March 16, 2020 Hi Daniel, this image has haunted me; I have passed it over several times because I didn't want to comment on a photo that freaked me out, but I can't ignore it any longer. This must be one of the most visceral and fleshy photos that I have seen here. The empty eyes of these sea-creatures are terrifying, the shiny flesh in all of its detail is gross, the teeth are frightening, but the choice of subject, the composition and the colors make this a masterful photo. Thank you for this new inspiration. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
