As autumn progresses, the leaves get more colorful and when they fall, they form wonderful patterns on the ground, like tapestries. Not two spots of fallen leaves are exactly the same, quite fascinating to look at (if you take the time). Your comments are very welcome.

An excellent collection of leaves with beautiful colors, shapes and patterns. It's amazing how nature can create such a work of art which has been so deftly captured into this amazing image. Wonderful composition and presentation. Greetings, Paul.

Hi Paul,

thank you for another wondeful comment! It took me some time to pick the most interesting spot out of the multitude of opportunities. I liked this spot because there were some blades of grass showing through the layer of leaves. Kind regards, Vincent

Hi Giangiorgio,

thank you for these beautiful words! I'm proud to receive such praise from you. You're so right; many people trample on these leaves without even noticing their beauty. Kind regards, Vincent

Hi Tatiana,

these leaves were lit by a light gray sky, which gave them that hyper-realistic look you refer to. Thank you for your friendly comments! Kind regards, Vincent

Vincent, how I wish scenes like this could occur in my area (sigh). Somehow, the beauty nature offers to anyone who has even minimal sight usually surpasses that of human-made objects, although perhaps it's more accurate to note that I would never expect human-made beauty to compete with nature, Aside from the vivid array of color, which includes hints of green, and the intricately sharp detail, it's ultimately the asymmetry that puts the image over the top - as you and others have noted. Anyone who knows how to press a button on a camera can take nature shots. Fortunately, in a selfish sense, it takes your extraordinary skill and your highly developed artistic sensibility to create a photograph like this one. - - My best always, michael - - (PS, as I may have mentioned before, I would be thrilled to flop into a pile of these leaves.)

Hi Michael,

if I were a millionaire (which I am most certainly not) I would grant you that wish to flop into a pile of autumn leaves, as you seem keen on having that experience. Well, I did that as a child and it was special indeed, as was falling backwards into a stack of hay. I never realized how great these experiences were until now; I knew they were great, but not in what measure. I'm glad you like my image. Thanks, Michael! Kind regards, Vincent

A work of art "made out of nothing", so to say! But I love its colours and its reality! My sincere compliments, Vincent! PDE

Hi Pierre,

thanks for your friendly comment! Yes, fallen leaves aren't exactly a subject even many consider photographing, but they form a wonderful subject in my book. Kind regards, Vincent
