Hi Jack,

I typed a four-line comment but it's gone now, probably because I failed to type it within five seconds, which is highly irritating. My recollection of the comment: somewhere in your densely populated urban universe there is always a unique and peculiar scene waiting to be photographed by you; it's kind of a custom we've come to expect here on PN. But there's nothing logical about that expectation, since uniqueness can't really be institutionalized. But yet again you present a drama, in this case of a drama of a robot managed by an impersonal handler on a stage confined by netting, to make sure we don't mistake it for reality. Superbly done! Kind regards, Vincent

Wayne, Vincent - Thanks as always for the comments. Increasingly rare nowadays that people actually take the time to express themselves. Wayne - I have to constantly remind myself to get out of my head and just look around. I've passed this little window hundreds of times without ever noticing it because it's just above the ground (a store with a room below ground level, probably). I noticed the little spaceman and spent so much time trying to get the figure isolated in a dark reflection I didn't even notice the reflection of myself taking the picture. It was only later, sitting at my monitor that I realized the odd capture. So it goes.

Vincent - I sympathize with you. That's happened to me on a number of occasions; just another glitch in the system that management has failed to respond to. Membership is ebbing away and new members have trouble getting their membership approved and their accounts activated. We're losing on both ends. I used to look forward to coming here; nowadays, not so much. Whoever invented the "like" or "admire" button needs to be buried in a pile of emojis. I'm glad you're still around. Your comments help make this place at least bearable.

Pure magic I do not understand. As soon as I turn to the "explore" section, I unavoidably fall, like bare steel balls in a pinball machine, into your oh so very special and utterly characteristic photographs. There is so much going on in this image that it seems like a small video. What should I look for first? Thankfully you managed to freeze one of the frames for us viewers to ponder on and try to discern what it is you wanted us to see. Thanks once more for the enlightening riddle. DG

Wondrous image and mood, Jack! I want to add to previous comments. There is something touching in this picture. As if you are leaning towards a child and /or you are happy as a child when shooting this object. Suddenly, the next Haiku appeared. "Most pass by without noticing. Some look around. Goals are contrary to perception." Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana

Jack, Thanks for the laughs. Your alert imagination and eagle eyes are unbeatable combination, proven once again.

In German there is a proverb that says something like 'the luck of the diligent' - in other words: as a constantly practicing (or "hard working") photographer you very well deserve to be rewarded by such a hidden gem. To me it's a masterpiece. Through the reflections and interactions, I, as a viewer, am both: viewing the photo from outside but at the same time I'm the little spaceman I'm seeing...
