Afternoon on the beach

Reminds me of some of the classics. A little like Bruce Gilden's work from Coney Island.

Great photographer, great work. I like what he has done with flash in street photography (which is rare), specially the flash combined with motion blur in some of his photos.

Hi Supriyo, this is imparts the feeling of a "great" afternoon on the beach. The lighting , the tones and the toning are spot on. Normally I have issues with slopping horizons but maybe because it is quite extreme here it doesn't appear to matter. I can see if you tried to straighten it you would crop the mothers head which would be a shame.............best regards...............GC.

Bravo Supriyo , you have been able to represent very well this afternoon environment. Observing the girl in the foreground I realize that mothers are overprotective all over the world and tend to over-cover their children, ciao Giangiorgio

Gerald, thank you very much. Your comment about the slant horizon is very true. Additionally, I thought that the slant horizon is somewhat in line with the angle of the raised hand of the child and that of the mother. It may also contribute to the spontaneity of the moment, and in that way may be less distracting.
