foureyes 3 Posted August 23, 2018 Beautiful detail,....the full view is amazing, I think they are called 'Canadian Soldiers' ( not sure where that came from ) Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted August 23, 2018 Hi Tatiana, thanks for your amicable comment. This creature is so short-lived that butterflies would pity it. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted August 23, 2018 Hi Foureyes, I tried to look it up and didn't find it, but the name seems to be based on some joke. Thanks very much for your comments and support. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted September 18, 2018 Hi Kristian, thanks for your friendly comment. I had to capture the insect and its shadow in one photo and failed several times, until I made this picture. You have to have some patience, even with mayflies :) Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted October 27, 2018 Hi Giuseppe, thanks for stopping by and commenting on this photo and its caption; the life of a mayfly is rather short, certainly from a human perspective. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
pablowarko 1 Posted November 21, 2019 It looks like it's floating on air, Vincent. Excellent colors, light and details. You've captured all the features of the body and wings. The light is perfect and the composition presents the insect very well. Best regards, Paul. Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted November 21, 2019 Hi Paul, thank you for taking the time to comment on this photo. This mayfly was sitting on the plastic window of our tent so motionless that it wasn't hard to approach it. It could have been the insect's last hour, but I'm not an entomologist, so I didn't know, but I always feel sorry for the life span of these creatures compared to ours. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
