Extraordinary image, Daniel! What is inside? Traces of vandalism reinforce intrigue. Fantastic combination of shapes, lines, different scale structures and textures. Amazing gray color, light, shadows, details . Congratulations! Sincerely, Tatiana

Perhaps Medusa is waiting for some poor soul to gaze through this window. The title contains a stern warning against doing so, but some will disregard it anyway. Count me among the likely victims. I just can't resist. See? That's the effect the image has on me. It is masterfully crafted, DG! - - My best, michael

Thank you Tatiana, Michael and Saad: I guess that by addressing Michaels comment, I can shed some light. But first, allow my to thank you all emphatically for taking the time to view , ponder, evaluate and comment on this (and other of my) images. I value them enormously and never take them for granted. This is a window in a monastery in a forsaken rural town, probably 200 - 300 years old, still in operation with novices and teachers. My guess is that the window is covered from inside to shade the incoming light for a more subdued environment for prayer, but that is only a guess, since I was not able to go inside. Be that as it may, your stories fascinate me, because one image, without description, allows for different interpretations, and thus, making photography the wonderful means of communication it is, across cultures, countries and languages, and as said before in a comment to Michael, If you give away the answer (i.e. description) you take some of the magic out of the scene. Thank you again. Be well, and best wishes. Sincerely. DG

Certainly many artisans artists have contributed to the creation of this window, but the merit goes to the expert photographic eye who knew how to capture and present it so well, the black and white enhances the image, a well deserved award, ciao Giangiorgio
