Wayne Sadler 618 Posted October 7, 2017 As I sat on the steps of a church in Venice waiting for my gondola ride and my wife to finish shopping, I watched this artist with his cool hat sit quietly reading his book while his dog never moved an inch. I luckily got off a few shots before some obvious friends engaged him in conversation and soon after they all left. I was sad I lost my subject but glad the dog could move. Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted October 7, 2017 Well captured moment and atmosphere Wayne. I like the strong contrast between the earth colors and the white s, especially the umbrella. Well seen.............BR, Holger Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted October 7, 2017 Wayne, you've obviously mastered transforming a photograph into a painting. It's only fitting that your subject is an artist, as well. And, btw, I totally agree with Holger. (There was no point in repeating his comments.) Link to comment

Wayne Sadler 618 Posted October 13, 2017 Many thanks, Michael. I soon realized this guy was art - his hat, his clothing, his dog, even the way he arranged his painting spoke of artistic design. I even went looking for a hat like his. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 618 Posted October 13, 2017 Many thanks, Patsy. I have to confess. I would so mesmerized by the sight of this artist and his set-up, it took me a while to realize I should paint or photograph this scene. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 618 Posted October 13, 2017 Many thanks, Warren. I could see how a place like Paris or Venice would inspire impressionism. Link to comment
