The fireworks are facing the camera, while the lady in the foreground has her gaze in a different direction, which makes her somewhat detached from the jovial atmosphere. The other man in the left corner is actively focused on the festivities, which even more highlights the contrast between the two characters. Is the girl lost in some distant memories, may be about a loved one... Link to comment
