Wayne Sadler 590 Posted June 5, 2017 I squint alot when I am painting. I first thought it was just part of my weirdness. I was relieved to learn many painters do this. It helps to spread attention over the entire canvas and see the picture as a whole and not give undue attention to any one particular element. Squinting with this image suggested the primary elements of this scene to arrange were the thick dark vertical lines of the tree, the street light pole and the billboard stand. Everything else seemed to play off those elements. Link to comment
