Wayne Sadler 592 Posted April 14, 2017 The transparency of some watercolor pigments is the main quality that attracts me to watercolor. When several glazes or washes of transparent watercolor are layered on top of each other (for me as many as 10) there are unexpected surprises when you begin to paint, to remove, brush-out areas to define your subject. That transparency quality causes objects to appear to “float” on top of each other, to connect in unexpected ways. This is the closest I have come to suggesting that transparency, floating quality digitally. Link to comment
