Leslie Reid 5,225 Posted March 30, 2017 I have no idea why I'm enjoying this image as much as I am. Zen? Reminds me of summer where I live? Reminds me of an incredibly soft gray cat I grew up with? It's so startlingly unusual? The way the enveloping grays make the soft light color under the fog glow? The almost-seen detail in the sea? I guess it's all of the above. But the bottom line is that I'm enjoying this image a lot. Link to comment
Hylle 0 Posted March 30, 2017 Hi Tommy.I agree, an exciting minimalist picture.I like the experimental and exploratory approach to the light and the fine transition of the tones and also that you let the sea show by using a relatively fast shutter. When looking at the picture from distance though, I feel a little disturbed by the vignette. Regards Lars Link to comment
momagnum 5 Posted April 2, 2017 Hi Leslie and Wayne and Lars.As I assume you also do, I take many pictures of the ocean because of the fascination of the combination of beauty and force. Normally the pictures never go any further than the chip. But this one I liked and honestly I don't really know why. Maybe, as Leslie says it is the calmness of the three lines the picture consist of. I take many pictures with full aperture, I like the intensity of the colors that comes from full aperture and I use the focusing that comes from the vignetting. But I agree with Lars: This image would have been better without the feeling of limits that comes from vignetting. But most important: thank you for your valuable comments. Tommy Link to comment
kristianmadsen 0 Posted November 11, 2018 Simplicity at its finest. Take a step back and look for the horizon, the thin line of light. Well seen! Link to comment
