Supriyo 6,008 Posted February 11, 2017 Jim, This is a very nice marriage of form and texture. I see a layering of forms of different dimensions starting from the profile of the arch that encircles the entire image down to the complex cross cross of shadow and light. The shape of the tree complements the arch rather than sticking out in the middle. A doorway to heaven, ... or the parking lot? Link to comment
DavidTriplett 12,682 Posted February 11, 2017 Jim, very nicely done. Because we seem to tramp in the same places this one really speaks to me. Very nice balance and tonal range in a very high contrast situation. The B&W processing is superb, particularly in how you have preserved the details of texture in all of the elements. The composition is very nicely balanced, with the arch forming a frame within the frame. The trees and other plants form a nice contrast against the hard edges of the rock. Congratulations on another outstanding effort. Link to comment

Gerald Cafferty 89,465 Posted February 18, 2017 Great use of the natural framing. The B&W with contrast and the hint of the sun has been handled skill. GC. Link to comment
Jim_Dockery_Photos 2 Posted February 19, 2017 Thanks for all the comments. What doesn't show in this picture is the huge scale of the overhanging wall above that is hundreds of feet high! Link to comment
