Light and Arches at the Winery

While visiting a winery in Lewes, Delaware we wandered through the

tour and came across this empty path, the moment was at hand... All

this is well executed in b/w.  Great use of light and shadows to make a very pleasing image.  Nicely done.

Amazing lighting, Holger.  The tonal contrasts are so pithy I need to cut them with a knife.

Done right Holger - light entering in on the right illuminating the pillars in a most dramatic fashion, as our eyes are dead down the walkway. I like the way the light highlights the masks on our left, leaving the rest cloaked in darkness, brilliant !

one of these highly composed pictures works well....

as this one clearly does.

Nice one Holger, interesting use of light and shadows with progressive depth. Could it be better from a slightly lower position to avoid loosing the top from the picture on the far wall, just a thought.

Well spotted and composed, nice use of the light and shade. The arches make a great subject and your presentation is very good, looking at the faces on the left wall perhaps an interesting shot there ? Best regards Ken.

This image has a very monastic quality about it . I get the impression of hushed voices, men in dark robes and quiet meditation. Beautifully composed and processed!
