I wish all my friends here at PN a very belated Happy Holidays. I've

had some health issues that kept me from participating. Trying to get

back in the swing of things and humbly offer this image for your

critique. Thanks for looking, all comments are welcome.

Holger,   I hope you are doing well now and wish you the best for a healthy 2017.   Nice image.  I like it as is, no changes.  One thought,  Michael Frye, in his book Digital Landscape Photography: In the Footsteps of Ansel Adams and the Great Masters, says he thinks PS displays images with too much contrast. He suggests that in editing, we reduce contrast by -33 overall and then go from there.   I have been working with this advice and find it helpful.  Just thought I'd mention it.  Glad to have you back on PN.  Be well.  Larry

A belated Happy New Year to you and yours as well.  Hope you are well now and remain so.  A very pleasant harbor scene, I can smell the salt air, hear the distant surf and the squawk of that lone seagull.  Glad to have you back... Mike

Sincere Best Wishes for 2017!

I love any nautical scenes, and you have captured that atmosphere here really well. The slight breeze then sends a ripple on the water and a chill in the air!

Very well done!

Best Regards

Hi Holger....Great shot my friend. This works well in portrait format as it shows a great sky.

The darkness of the water in at the bottom draws me into the scene. Well done my friend. Regards, Lawrence

I like this just the way you have composed it with the marina and its boats as intermediary between sea and sky. It's a beautifully balanced shot.

I too hope you are doing better Holger..........there is a really bad flu that has been 'knocking down' the strongest of soldiers up here, am sure it is in the States as well.......sure knocks the stuffing out of you...I'm almost better.  I love this image.  Beautiful POV , good detail as I look towards the open water (perspective)  - good processing as always.

Lawrence, Janegbert, Jack and Gail, I so much appreciate your taking the time to look and comment on this image. Jack, you and Lawrence both hit upon a concern I had with this image, that I had to much water or sky and why didn't I crop it this way or that. I thought it would ruin the balance. Thanks for validating my thoughts. Take care. See you soon.
