Sarah,  I agree that you had nice light here, and you managed it well.  The light on the large tree trunk is the centerpiece of the image.  I would crop out the branch to the right of the big tree as I see it as a distracting element.  Nice image.  Larry

This is beautiful Sarah, with lovely light and snow - and the ivy covered tree has so much character.  A mix of warm and cool colors is always appealing to me.

I don't think I would crop as suggested, since the small branch anchors the right frame edge - and to crop would push the main subject too close to the edge, (just my sensibilities).

Take care, David

Hi Larry, many thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to give an alternative view, I kind of agree with David in the sense that I would like to leave more space around the tree but another way could be cloning out some of the branches on the right in the future. All the best. Sarah.

Hi George, thanks for stopping by and for your thoughts on this. Best wishes. Sarah.

Hi David, this was such a beautiful place with some wonderful late afternoon light. It was very tranquil with the stream running though. Pleased you liked this.

Happy New Year.

A really beautiful winter scene, well framed by the foreground tree.  Looks cold indeed.  Happy New Year... Mike

Hi Sarah, it is a very nice winter shot, the tree covered with ivy frames the scene well, I agree with Larry's suggestion to crop. Best wishes. Peter
