alfbailey 3 Posted November 29, 2016 The formations with the light behind them create a fantasy, dream like forest that is most captivating!Very well done! Alf Link to comment
michaellinder 16,612 Posted December 4, 2016 You not only provided a visual treat, but also you gave me the opportunity to learn about the subject. Apparently, it has medicinal properties which maybe of benefit to me. Yet I don't see the subject of this image as simply a mushroom colony. To me, thinking of the film "Avatar," it displays the landscape on a part of a world we have yet to discover. Starting the lower right corner, my visual journey in the upper left, I find that the differences in both color and tonality have aided me on a visual journey, starting in the lower right corner, proceeding through the middle, and ending in the upper left corner. A fascinating journey it has been. Excellent work . . . michael Link to comment
Leslie Reid 5,219 Posted December 30, 2016 Thanks for the feedback, Tony, Alf, Pierre, and Michael! And Michael, I'm absolutely delighted if the photo turns out to have actually been useful! And Michael and Alf, I love your comments on the landscape aspect here--the first images I took were simply to document the fungus, then as I moved in closer I started seeing landscapes in the forms. I spent the next 20 minutes (and a bit of post-processing, though nothing major) trying to turn it into as much of a landscape as I could, and I'm delighted that the impression came through--thanks!
