Beautiful scene with fantastic colors, I was wondering if a little work on the left side of the image will make a difference. and I just did a little work on it. Hope you like it. No big difference, just a little more details.

I agree with Jorge and would even attempt to draw out more detail. I'd give it a 7 if there was a whale in the creek:-)

Holger, even if just for a few seconds, I always love to open your captures from the wild and abstract myself from this urban environment where I'm stuck through your always beautiful and relaxing natural landscapes. Thanks for these moments.

In the chaotic push to get together a Thanksgiving dinner for 25 or so, a scene like this does wonders to calm down the frenzy and restore a bit of tranquility to my life. The sunlit golds and the blues work particularly well together.

I think you have balanced the light and the composition admirably!

I love the detail in the front left vegetation and the long lazy meandering river with the evening golden light touching the nearside bank.

Very well done Holger!

Holger, all has been said - we just agree with it. I actually like the darker far bank- it's hard to really get details out of something so dark to start off with. Makes a nice contrast to the fading rays of sun.

G and V, Thank you so much for your comment. You're correct there really wasn't much to highlight on the dark bank so I left it alone, after all the image is about the creek and the golden light on the near side. That being said I welcome any and all suggestions to a different pov. Thanks again.

I too like the darker colors in the left bank.  There are just those times when trying to reveal details within shadow does not seem to work. I do like the POV you chose to take this shot Holger, the sun is beautiful on the right side of the bank in all the grasses and trees. This is really quite lovely!

A very peaceful and serene setting, a great place for a canoe tour.  It would be interesting to know how such a small creek came to be named Whale Creek ;-)... Mike

Like Alf, I also like the left foreground interest.   I also did some post-processing 'to balance' the light. No claim that mine is better - just for discussion and from a different perspective.

All the best,

Gail, Stephanie, Mike, Jamie and Tony, Thanks for the great comments. Mike I will have to check out the origins behind Whale Creek, not sure how it got its name. Tony I like the colors you have brought forth in the foreground and the slightly better contrast. I have to remember to give images a little more punch before posting because they do look different from my original file. Thanks again, always helpful and supportive.
