The side of a barn, this has no true category. Your thoughts and

Nice subtle tones and natural colours add interest. Good balance and composition, very well spotted and taken. Best regards Ken.

Thank you all very much for the kind words and taking the time to look. This barn is in New York state. I have fond memories of visiting this place where my wifes' family lives.

The colour gradation and patterns in the timber give the image a lot of vibrancy and life.

I think there could even be a good opportunity  for an abstract if you zoomed right in!

Very well done Holger!

Well done and great motive. How about moving the camera just a little bit to the left and remove the white top edge?

Drew, Eystein I see your point, I get and I like what Drew has done. I thought the foreground important but the crop helps the composition. Thanks for taking the time and effort. See you soon.

The old saying, "couldn't hit the side of a barn" certainly doesn't apply to you ;-).  Well seen and composed with sympathetic lines... Mike

Is first timber pattern that caught my attention and after those three elements:window, flower support(I think it is) and bird house. With lot of dry leaves in foreground the mood is perfect for a Dec. time.
