I can see why the contrasting colors caught your eye. This has a postcard look to it (eh, that's intended as a compliment). I do get an almost wintery mood from this Tony, I suppose the fog  and the blue and white reflection took me there. Really excellent image.

Very eye catching Tony with the split sky, fog, gorgeous colors, composition and reflection in the rippled water. Well done!

I am now beginning to recognise your images before reading the who the photographer is!

The 50/50 split works so well here! And the misty water has been retained with all the mood and atmosphere that must have been present when the photo was taken!

Beautifully done!

This is as close to a watercolor as I've seen in a photograph, an image as fleeting and ephemeral as the morning mist - and therein lies its charm.

Tony,

You are still portraying a clear mood and feel - chilly fall am. Well captured. It seems maybe cropping a little from the bottom may balance it more. Just another view:) This looks like such a lovely place.

I love the converging lines on the water that lead my eyes right on the main cluster of trees. Beautiful little touches of color in the background and a breath of air and blue sky on the right.

Many thanks for your constructive comment. Whenever there is a reflection involved, I usually go with the 50:50 split.

I could not have described it any better. Thanks for the visit and keep on shooting,

PS your recent night shots with the girls are very good.

Strange conditions indeed. It is almost as though, what with the blue and yellow light, that dawn and dusk have finally met, without the day as a go-between. I love the way the "dawn" seems to wedge itself into the dusk. This image has a surreal, dreamlike quality, whilst also being quite graphic, in the design sense. The dark tree dead center work really well and seem also to be heading another wedge, this one of trees. The central horizon compliments the aforementioned qualities. This image would actually work well rotated 90 degrees or, even better, flipped upside-down with the ripples in the "sky". Maybe! Great shot.

You do have a way with words and you describe this image in a way that I could never do.   I like the idea of stepping out of the box and putting it upside down.  Many thanks for stopping by.

I'm reminded of photos of airplanes breaking the sound barrier and the mushrooming water vapor.  Yeah, a weird analogy but this image is a peaceful moment in time, stopped and preserved from a speeding timeline.  Good stuff... Mike
