Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback.  I am really pleased you noticed that "white line on the horizon"   It is in fact a field of barley and the sun has lit it up through that hole in the clouds!  This is another amazing location that I would love to show you!

Have a wonderful weekend my friend!

Many Thanks for your interest and positive feedback!  The colour version was  deep darkest blue clouds which somehow looked a bit too surreal hence the B &  W treatment :)  But yeah it seemed to work!

Best Regards

Both Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix would be proud of you for using the song title in connection with this image.  It is entirely appropriate.  I easily can envision people rotating turns sitting in this hut, keeping a careful watch over this corner of the planet.

This image is not so much moody as it is dramatic, owing to the predominance of dark tones and their stark contrast with the few visible areas of highlights; b&w was the right call on your part.  Of course, as is a hallmark of your photographs, you have provided a pathway for a viewer to travel from foreground to background and back again.  Interestingly, the background destination isn't too terribly clear, so there seems to be an implied leap of faith involved on the part of a viewer.  Bricks, mortar, and stone - hardly ever seen in my neighborhood; they give homage to the generation of workers who built this edifice and the causeway.

If you were in the room with me, I'd bow to you.  Your work continues to wow me.

My best always,

michael

Sincere Thanks for your thoughtful feedback!

One of my favourite Hendrix tracks ...I just couldn't resist!

Most of the images I have seen of this small but significant landmark, seem to have been taken from the other side of the causeway looking onto the island.  But due to the very strong sunlight I thought it prudent to avoid pointing my lens at it.  And as I positioned myself accordingly it became apparent how much contrast was evident!

The background destination is the mainland and this part of it is relatively flat. But just out of interest the light horizontal line is a field of barley which is illuminated through the gap in the clouds above.

The vast majority of structures in the UK are made from brick and stone, I guess we just take it for granted.

Thanks again Michael I always get a great kick reading your descriptions and seeing these images through your eyes!

Best Regards

Alf
