Sincere Thanks for your thoughtful feedback, as you are aware I value your opinions very much! 

The detail in the image gets ever more impressive the larger it becomes, and in reality the size of the uploads to PN don't really do it justice.  But I do intend to get this printed in the future, and hopefully I'll  be able to persuade the wife to find wall space for it : - )

Your journey was well worth it Alf.  While I can understand the longing for snow, it is within this composition that we see the 'bare bones' of the mountainside. It is a landscape that is so pleasurable to view and your title truly reflects the connection between the textures and hues of the boathouse and how they are so similar to that of the surrounding landscape. The lovely reflections offer up a softness that provides a beautiful compliment to the landscape. I read the many comments and some of your responses. I do hope that you do PRINT this one. I am sure you will have very few objections as to 'finding wall space' from your most avid supporter!!!

It's a tricky location, but this part of the lake is quite sheltered. The more open aspect of the lake round to the left of the boathouse is more volatile and subject to winds even on a relatively calm day.  The location is also quite isolated with no easy access, but that just adds to the appeal for me. As for the snow, well I did get my with in the end, and nearly got stuck in it : -) (Be careful what you wish for eh)  But it's been a frustrating year photography wise, with excessive amounts of rain and wind.  But it's all subject to change, and winter isn't over quite yet : - )

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you on this Alf.  I see now what a special location this is - and really quite surrounded by conditions that makes you want to come to this spot.  I am so glad you were able to get this capture. I know your winter was a soggy - and snowy mess - you must have watched the Weather Station all season, longing for days to get out and wander  - and hopefully come home with something beautiful.  I know you like to go to challenging locations - I hope you are always able to call 'home' :)

It is a wild and remote location but as you rightly observe, this only makes it more desirable for me to be there. Although I try to reserve visits to this place for the winter months when the tourists have all but given up : - )
