Rebecca in her school uniform

Took advantage of my wife's temporary absence as she lived the high life with her

mum for a few days, and set up a studio in the back room. Rebecca is a generous and

patient subject and I was quite pleased with the outcome. Helpful comments,

suggestions and improvements greatly appreciated as always.

It's a wonderful portrait and the clarity and sharpness are to be admired. I like the angle of her head and the dark background  seems to work very well too.  I just wonder if you could have introduced some secondary lighting that would have alleviated or softened the shadows on her face from her nose? I hasten to add that I'm not in the least bit experienced with portraits.  A great result though all the same!

Excellent work!!!

A very nice shot. I love the overall softness of the image. Maybe just a bit more fill light on the back of her face would have helped, and possibly a bit of a key light on the back of her head. Just to pull her out of the background a little. She is indeed a lovely subject.

Usually quartering light is from the other direction. You show fantastic result from doing otherwise. Tone, detail remain in the shadow side. Critique is only acknowledging really good work you've done.
