My Answer to this forum question; Here is a link to portraits by Maxim Maximov: https://500px.com/the-maksimovThey are simply amazing. There are many other photographers on 500px who produce great portraits like these such as Nikita Zavgorodny and I'd like to emulate them. Well I'm a noob and I'll soon ask you for a critique of my photos but I'd like to know what does into producing such portraits; in terms of lens, lighting, postproduction or anything else. Can a single handed amateur photographer produce similar results? My answer is. . . . . Yes.

Thank you for the  comments, Radu. Did  you noticed, this image  was made  with a Nikon D40  and a kit lens? And read  the "Details".

Bela, yes I saw and this once again an example that photographer skill is very important, can do good photos with a not expensive camera and worse ones with even a d600.So compliments to photographer.

Hi Radu, unfortunately  some  amateurs  think, to  do a good photograph,  they have to buy  the best  equipments,  which is  entirely false.

Cheers.

sorry I missed this one Bela - she is precious. Fabulous eyes and rosebud mouth - a lovely child. Yes - thank goodness for this age when we witness what it truly is - to be innocent!
