I agree, great composition: the dark poles and the gull balanced by the two lights. I love the overall graininess as well. It adds a feeling of cold and damp I'd say.

The gradual diminishing visibility, the lights on the boat and the sharp focus of the bird in the foreground really adds to the overall atmosphere. 

Very well done!
