charo 3 Posted October 25, 2015 This photo was taken at sunset, the light was not optimal, I returned the next morning, but I'm not sure of the results. What do you think? Which version is better? Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 503 Posted October 26, 2015 You have been able to represent in the best way this fantastic place. Both pictures are very beautiful, I prefer the first because the light shows better the texture and colors of the soil, ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted October 26, 2015 Great scene and choice image from a breathtaking POV.I also prefer your initial image.Bravo et meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment
gb3 6 Posted October 26, 2015 Great subject and color, Rosario Portella. I've been to Page but have yet to get to this area. I need too!As good as it is, I am not sure on the format. It seems to be clipped off on the sides. Also, the lighting seems a tad harsh to me.. Perhaps you can use a graduated ND filter in NIK or another application to tone down the sky a little, without affecting the water or rock colors? Also, not sure why, but to me it seems like it's slightly tilted/rotated clockwise? I would ask for consensus on that one though.G Link to comment
charo 3 Posted October 27, 2015 Hello Giangiorgio, I am glad That you like the two images. Thank you for your kind comments.Hi Laurent, thanks for letting me know your impressions about this picture. You've done a good analysis of the image, Greg. You're right, the light was quite harsh. Actually I took two vertical photographs and joined them with photoshop, because I missed the wide angle. Thank you very much for your critique. Kind Regards, Rosario. Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted October 27, 2015 Rosario, I prefer the image you posted first over the morning version. Is this in the southwest of the U.S? Is there much wide angle or fisheye distortion in the major rock? Just asking, not criticizing as I like the image. You could toy with the color temperature of the water if you like; your choice. Nice image. Larry Link to comment

hansdans 0 Posted November 23, 2015 Great capture! About the versions - the posted with reflections and sierra tones is my preference, - but then again these would make a fine serie if you would include maybe a "evening version" to make a triptyck:) br Hannu Link to comment
Supriyo 6,008 Posted November 23, 2015 First of all, congratulations for the Photo of the day!Great composition, Rosario. The square format suites well. First version is surely my choice, as the soft light brings out the mysticism of the landscape. I have seen similar images taken from the same vantage point of this structure, but what separates this image from the others is the directional sun rays at the top. For this reason, I think B&W is a good choice for this image as well. I tried to experiment with your picture and came up with a B/W version emphasizing the sun rays for some added drama. Hope you don't mind. Link to comment
charo 3 Posted November 24, 2015 Hello Gianni, thanks for your visit and kind words. Hannu, the idea of the triptych is good, but unfortunately I am thousands of kilometers away. I really appreciate your feedback! :) You've done a good job, Supriyo! I like your conversion in black and white, especially the sun rays (almost imperceptible in the color version). Thank you very much!!! Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted May 17, 2016 I like the version you posted. What a beautiful shot. An amazing vista for sure Rosario. I do like the suggestion of black and white as well. I imagine as you go along and learn more, you may even come back to this shot and find another way you will like to edit it. But for now, this is very beautifully edited I think. I am not an expert on Landscape by any means, but I like it. Link to comment
