Bow Fiddle

JeffBryce

20 seconds; f/5.6; 24 PC-E. The lens permits selective focus. In this case, I concentrated on the diagonal plane towards Bow Fiddle, and defocused the left and right.

I visited this place 7 years ago and had no luck due to heavy winds,

nasty sea, and overcast sky. This day the sky had potential and the

sea was somewhat gentle. There was a boy off to the left tossing

rocks into the sea; his "crazy" dog was retrieving them and then

dumping them in patterns behind us! I used a heavy ND filter to slow

the shutter to smooth the water and eliminate the dog's movements.

I tilted a 24 PC-E to selectively focus the diagonal from the lower-left

to the upper-right, which had the effect of blurring the rocks in the

upper left.

Jeff, it's a beautiful composition with an excellent use of the ND filter. I like the light and the details of the foreground.

I like the way you have worked this shot, the water looks suitably calm and tranquil, the rocks look sharp and gritty in texture and the clouds have retained some shape and form, which works well amongst the well thought out composition.

Well done Jeff!

A beautiful image, very well composed. Nice use of the tilt. Well worth a POD distinction!

Do you have other pictures of this very attractive place? Did you try to shoot from the rock in the foreground?

Best regards,

Alain
