Dogs have been humans friends since the caveman days when the wolfs would gather around for scraps of food. At that point the bond began.

Dogs are incredible animals (I do not own one) they appear to be smarter than we first though, look up Chaser

This dog is just lovin the attention

This POV is excellent. I find the expression on the dog's face in front to be overwhelmingly touching. It looks like he (?) is an older dog who has been very well taken care of over the years. I am assuming these dogs are among strangers.  The dog is so relaxed and just soaking in the affection. Composition wise, I like the addition of the other person just touching the side of the other dog. This exchange is  very pleasing. I think this image would be excellent for 'card' or 'flyer' for any Humane Society to use for Fund Raising or Advertising the importance of our role in the Responsible Care of our Dogs. This heartfelt image also reminds me of the many organizations, hospitals etc. that invite people to bring their dogs in for the patients to visit with weekly.  I know I could not do without the warm body of my Abbey beside me or her cuddling, especially in the mornings before my first tea.  This image was a beautiful 'treat' that made me smile immediately Holger.  I can tell that you are an animal lover - you wouldn't have taken this image of such an intimate exchange otherwise. :) Thank you so much for sharing this today! Into my Favorites.

Dear Gail, I am honored by your comments and want to thank you for taking not just the time to look but the time to think and write your thoughts regarding this image. I love dogs but don't have any, just tropical fish, the nice thing is you don't have to walk the fish in the cold of winter. :-)   Thanks again for all your support dear friend.

to touch is one of our primary senses ,even before seeing;

it appears this dog subconsciously reminded of his first mother's touch;

what a psihanalizat image , when all is so simple- the dog is happy !

the other dog must feel the same ?

keep going !

" A little to the left;  oh yeh, right there"!  Great story telling shot.  One can see the contentment on the dog's face & body language. Best, Len.

I also love dogs, but loved that comment from you "You don't have to walk fish in the winter" lol.  By the same token, you can't train a fish to fetch a stick either : - )

The dog in the foreground is just basking in the affection, it's expression of sheer bliss is priceless.

Very well done Holger!

Best Regards

Thanks so much for the look and write Alf. True there is much happiness that dogs' bring not just to their owners but all they come in contact with, as long as they get a little lovin'.

A gentle touch is universal when used appropriately.  Lovely.

When I massage and caress my granddaughter's dogs, oft times there is a satisfactory and mellifluous sound.
