I do not have the Skills/Experience to "critique" from a photographers view point.....but as an observer, I think this is very good.

I think we see the right amount of everything:

sky

tree

birds

earth

Its funny how the birds are caught in (what looks like) the beginning of flight, and that lends motion to the rest of the pic. The tree almost appears to be riding a (moving) wave of hillside, with the dead log coming along for the ride, and the clouds watching from above. The clouds (oddly enough) seem stopped, while the landscape below them is in motion.

I think Denny makes some very good observations. The proportional values of the image are very well represented and the composition is excellent.  You have another image in this series where the cloud is darker, but my preference is with this one where there are dark  and light elements of the sky.
