Theodor, I very much appreciate your comment and generous rating. I will reply in more detail later.

Many thanks for taking the time to visit. I value both your words and your generous rating. The words can tell me how you liked certain aspects and parts that do not appeal to you.  Your rating tells me how you would numerically rank an image in comparison to the many other beautiful images that you have seen here at photo.net.

Whether someone likes your image or not is a very complicated affair. Some will go wow while others  think that it is average. For a while I have been trying to learn what makes most people think that a particular image is very good or excellent. I am making baby-steps in that direction but I suspect that this will be a life-long effort and at the end of the day, I may never succeed. But as I promised someone, I will try harder.

I have been over viewing many of your images, enjoying them and wondering why some of them are not rated higher but I have the same problem with some that I put up for rating.

All the very best and thanks again for everything,

You've done a good job with this picture, Tony. I love the result here, the colors and especially the motion blur filter.

Kind Regards,

Rosario.

The compositions is awkward and the colours are way over the top.

You mention trying to figure out what makes a majority of people like and image, that's a tough nut to crack. One thing that I have noticed, even more so at sites like this one, is that flashy overdone work rates highly on first view but does not linger and is replaced by the next piece of eye-candy coming down the pipe.

Hard to believe someone would be so concerned about receiving a less than 6 rating to have need of sending the person an email. I don't rate at this site, for that very reason, but if I did rate this image I would rate it lower than Marta did.

I appreciate that you took a chance and experimented with this but it just does not work for me. Remove the blur, dial back the oversaturation and change the crop and you likely would have a nice landscape photo.

Gordon - I fully recognize that not everyone likes the same thing so I appreciate your candor.  Keep up your very fine photography that is beautiful, thoughtful and creative. I was particularly drawn to your motion studies folder. Kudos!

Have a great day,

You portfolio is one of the places I go when I want to see how it's done. Just stumbled on this and think it's amazing. Thanks Brent
