Impressive abstract. I am not sure about the tree that's left out of the bluring. Could you share with us a version with the tree blurred too?

Keep on shooting!!!

I find don't agree about blurring the white tree more. It helps give more substance to that area at the top, and to anchor the boat and men. Leave it as is ;-)

My goodness! I was not expecting this very positive reaction but it is appreciated.

John C - glad you liked it very much. Your enthusiasm is motivating.

Michail - appreciate your comments and suggestion. I will try your recommendation and see if I like it.

Gail - thanks for all of your recent comments and generous support.

David - thank you for your comments and the opinion to leave it untouched.

Pierre - thanks for your support. Please call me Tony since anything else makes me uncomfortable. Pierre, I use to work with a Pierre Demers in Montreal who had a keen interest in HiFi music and brought a local pianist (Louis Lortie) to my attention. Would you be that Pierre?

Mick - appreciate your generosity.  Thanks.

I have a little bit mixed feelings about this one...it's feels very artistic, but on the other hand, for me, there is maybe too much "speed" due to the blurring. I would like to see it with different type of blurring, but anyway, it caught my eye as a small thumbnail photo, it's a "5" for me.

Thank you Tim. It comes down to personal tastes. Just wondering if you could suggest a different type of blur? This is the motion blur and the radial blur would not be applicable here.

Artistic presentation, like a dream with splendid fall colors.Compliments my friend for this photo.

Tim: I do appreciate the feedback and suggestion and certainly I will go and explore that possibility.  In a way I am a bit old fashioned myself in that most of my images are - au naturel - and the original, in my humble opinion, is one that I like but I thought I would try something a bit different.

All the very best and thank you for your continued support,

Jorge - I was going for something different. Thank you for your generosity.  I liked your bikini girl photo but at my delicate age, I could not look at it too long! (*_*)

Radu - your support is appreciated and I have just visited one of your latest flower masterpiece with water drops. This summer I will be thinking of your flower images and using them for inspiration.

If you think I should apologize for my punctuation then, I apologize.

Particularly, I consider that when we show our work to the opinion of the others, we must be able to accept positive or negative values, but of course, it is my opinion.
I never hide myself under anonymity.
Anyway thanks for visiting my photo with this and leave your comment. Thanks for  sending me an email for this matter. Thanks for your bother.

At first my intention was give your image a six, attracted by the creativity but after I considered the excesive saturation and the overfocus on the center and the not appropiated composition and it was a four to me. I know you can do it better next time. It's a good technique but only you must continue trying... probably next time it could be a six or seven to me.

Excuses for my not perfect english, please.

Thank you very much for your response. I did not ask for an apology and no apology is required. It is dialogue like this that I was looking for and I would like to encourage it so not only me but others can learn.

It is my dream that every time someone rates an image, they provide their rational.  We will not always agree but at least we know your thought process.

For what it is worth I spent time in this location the last  three years in the fall and depending on the light you get very pale colors with fog or you can get very vibrant colors depending on the light.   I would encourage you to look at some leaves or flowers where there is bright light. Walk around it and complete a circle. You will observe that the intensity of the color changes. From dull to intensely colorful.  When the leaf or flower is back lit, the colors are intense and that is the case here. The leaves and colors were back lit and you have that bright reflection on the water and on the trees. I make this point to demonstrate that I did not increase the saturation.  Colors and their intensity is something I achieve out in the location - using the available light or using a polarizer.

As to boat and tree being too centered. I disagree - this composition is almost a rule of thirds.

As I said, this dialogue is very valuable.  Prior to this I had a  rating with no comment. At least now I know how you were thinking.  And I appreciate the time you took to communicate this to me.

I look forward to exchanging critiques and ratings with you in the future and keep up the good work you are doing.

 All the very best,

I agree with you Tony.

I was meaning an horizontal format for this composition, it's a question of tastes, you know. Maybe to give a more opened idea for this vision.

I love the COLOR always, color is my passion. Probably for that reason I felt a bit "ofended" with the over-saturation.

Please continue trying. Loved the creativity and originality. And I know you can do it fantastic to enrich this community. A number 4 or 5 or 6 is not always a final sentence, we must take it like an orientation that we can do it better.

A truely pleasure to me this communication but not too pleasure to do it in english...  sorry.

Have a nice day!!

Dear Marta, I do not make promises often but when I do make one, I always keep my word. My promise to you is that I will try harder. Have a blessed day,

Tony, sorry it took me so long to find this one. I love the vertical lines and how you have composed this. It seems to draw the viewer's attention directly to the canoe.  Wonderfully done!!!!!   AJ

Hi Tony,

I'am quite new in this domain and I'am trying to learn from the others experience, so my opinion is not so heavy, it is just my personal thinking...I was attracted by this shoot because of its great painting and abstract look! In your choice for this kind of presentation, the color is essential... You could choose soft or strong tones, but this will change completely the mood of the scene...I didn't expect to find identical reality in your scene, because is an abstract, creative composition, not a landscape having all the details on it ...The colors in your composition are vibrant, are giving contrasts, are filling the empty spaces, are dynamic... So I can't imagine it other way, than saturated !!Moreover, this shoot was taken in October, when there is enough color and sun, to have also brightness, so, saturation...I'am sure that each of us has quite different color tones and/or brightness in his processing software, moreover, on his personal monitor...I won't tell you what will be my rating, because I guess this is less important for you, I tell you only: Great work and keep going Tony !! All the best,

Theodor D.
