Mark Z 371 Posted April 1, 2015 Supriyo, the sense of depth is enhanced by the trail leading into the picture, and the people provide a sense of scale, both of which are good.To me, the sky is distracting because it appears so over-processed. Having dramatic clouds is nice, but here the clouds and sky are very contrasty, too much so, I think. A reviewer of one of your other shots said that the clouds compete with the rocks, and I would say the same here. In this case, the rocks seem to be cut out and pasted onto a background of clouds. There is a halo around the rocks (both a white halo and a black one) that add to this illusion. Possibly less contrast in the sky, and less sharpening, would be beneficial. Link to comment
Supriyo 6,008 Posted April 2, 2015 Hi Mark,I agree with you 100% on the unreal look of the sky. I was bored by the familiar look of a trail, and tried to give it kind of a an alien landscape feel, or perhaps the backdrop from an old movie set. Whether it works or not, you are entitled to judge. I will upload a version with a more normal sky, without the apocalyptic cloud look. Thank you very much for stoping by and giving your good suggestions. Link to comment
