frigo 4,155 Posted February 14, 2015 Great light on the impressive mount and I like your timing to have that hovering sky high enough to create that halo.Excellent image....Bravo!Meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted February 15, 2015 Great range of colours and tones coupled with sharpness front to back, a real delight to view! Alf Link to comment
Daniel Álamo 0 Posted February 17, 2015 About the framing, I think it could work even better with more FG for play with the patterns on floor, and just the clouds to frame the mountains and few sky (a generaly down view). About the red hue I think it should be better with a little bit more cold WB.Love the dry grass on the LRC. 6/7. Link to comment
JeffBryce 0 Posted February 17, 2015 Laurent, Alf, and Jose: Thanks for your comments.Daniel: Thanks for your comments about WB and composition. I did try variations of WB but settled on this to reduce the amount of blue on the snow in the lower right and to somewhat intensify the pink on the mountain. For printing, I would likely reduce the red and increase the blue, as you suggest. Re composition, I have another version of this on PN that includes more foreground. It was extremely windy and the snow & sand was ever-changing; would have looked great in time-lapse! Regards, Jeff Link to comment
AlainD 0 Posted February 24, 2015 Hi Jeff,For sure one of the best image in the folder! Great light and leading lines. Although the rule of third may worked well as suggested, I do like the composition as it is. It makes the moutains clearly the main subject. Too much foreground would decrease this effect.I wish I had such gorgeous light in Stokksnes. This makes me want to use my Big Stopper filter for a very long exposure... I'll have to get back there one day.Congrats and best regards,Alain Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 18, 2016 Beautiful light you had at the Vestrahorn, Jeff. I did not have this luck - we were there twice during our trip to no avail, the mountain was hidden in the clouds. Best wishes. Peter Link to comment
JeffBryce 0 Posted December 18, 2016 Peter, thanks for your comment. Got there as the sunlight was quickly being lost. Had maybe 10 minutes before all the pink was gone. Upon my return home I could hear fine grinding as I focused and zoomed my 16-35. There were faint traces of powder-black sand from the beach that made its way inside! I justify it was worth it; besides I think that I had a bad copy and I did OK on a trade-in for a prime! Regards, Jeff Link to comment
