It would be a sad old world if we all liked the same things!

Cheers!

I agree, "fleeting" is a very good adjective. The scene changes before your eyes with every second of passing. I don't think I have ever visited the same place twice and encountered the same light and conditions, I guess that's why I never get bored with landscape photography.

Cheers Don!

Many Thanks for your thoughtful feedback and kind words.  There is a complexity about the image, but one that I think allows a natural flow of eye travel.

Best Regards

I am really pleased you like this, it was a bit of a spontaneous shot. But I tend to pause every few yards when walking and take a look through the viewfinder, I did it on this occasion and it looked good to me so I mounted the camera on the tripod and took the shot. So very often a scene looks so different through the viewfinder.

Sincere Thanks my friend!

Sincere Thanks for your most encouraging feedback!

As explained above, very often the camera see's the scene quite differently than the human eye, so it's always worth stopping frequently and just checking the scene through the viewfinder.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate your input!  I never get bored with  landscapes, it's different every time, and I always learn a new lesson myself. On this occasion I learned not to forget Midge Repellent in future! : - )

Warm Regards

I had a really epic morning! Sometimes I get home and if I have one good shot I am a happy bunny!  On this occasion I visited three locations in rapid succession and each one offered something different but very aesthetically pleasing ........sometimes you just get lucky with the light and the weather.........and of course it offsets the other times when you don't : - )

Sincere Thank & Best Regards

I know what you mean about the "arrow" effect, but in this case the "busy" foreground I think acts as an anchor that gives the viewer a sense of being there, the reeds part to the right to allow the viewers eyes a path to travel towards the boathouses, and the larger view allows  the detail of the grasses to be seen clearly.  Of course there is a valid case to be in favour of simple, but then at what point does simple become just plain boring.  My views are usually in line with yours, but I disagree with most of your points on this occasion. Having said that I am also grateful that you raised the points because it made me re-examine the image to see if it could have been done better from this particular vantage point and I conclude that if I took the shot again I don't think I would do much differently other than pray for a cloud or two : - )

Sincere Thanks & Best Regards

I am a most fortunate individual, that resides within two hours car travel of some of the most beautiful amazing places in the world. The very least I can do is share it : - )

This tiny island we call the United Kingdom has a most diverse and wonderful landscape. And although it's only small I still haven't seen all of it yet!

Sincere Thanks & Best Regards

Actually, Alf, i should say it could make a lovely watercolor; it's too delicate for an oil. but let me be clear, Alf, i would never compare your photography to any other medium ;-} You're an image maker, Alf, and foremost a great photographer. This doesn't need to be a painting. it is a great photograph with a most lovely texture. this could make a fine watercolor painting, but no medium could make it more exquisite than it is. You're a marvel, Alf ;-} dp

The accolades are too lengthy and too many to read, yet I am pretty sure I concur with all of them. For my ha'pennies worth..........

I love the clarity throughout, it makes you search the image for more - like finding the home, far along the far bank, up in the trees.

By the same token, it has you searching the lake-bed for the sign of trout...... and so my observations could go on.

A masterpiece whatever one says about it....... I could happily have it on my wall ( with many of your others).

Congrats, you well deserve the above accolades.

Masterful.

Best regards

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback.

There were quite a few trout rising, insects buzzing and birds singing. But most of all there were midges biting......and it would seem I was the main course : - )

I think this one was taken at around 5.20 am, midges don't sleep in around here!

All the very best my friend!

Even from the thumbnail right away it caught my eye and I know it's a beautiful  image. Not only the mist makes this image attractive but also the greens and the reflection that mirrors the nearby mountain. Of course the house completes this spectacular landscape.

Best regards,Alf.

Good to hear from you!

I hadn't previously thought about taking a shot from this angle, but the gap in the reeds seemed inviting and as I looked through the viewfinder it just seemed right.

Sincere Thanks!

Beautiful image; so lush and peaceful! Is this the same boathouse or scene featured in Dinas Dream? Interesting (if it is) how different an area is depending on time of year. Lovely work! Thank you for sharing. :)

You have an excellent retentive memory for detail , it is indeed the same boathouse as "Dinas Dawn" And yes you are so right each season brings it's own unique light and moods.  Thank you so much for your thoughts and kind words!

This image is so well balanced, so peaceful and healing. Without the foreground, the image would be too technical and symmetric. Hat of you Sir, it is a very nice work.

Cheers.

Many Thanks for your interest and thoughtful comments.  I am in agreement with you, the foreground reeds balances the tapered effect of the mountain and consequent reflection.
