subc 0 Posted June 24, 2014 45 kms from Jaisalmer (Rajasthan, India) lies the Sam (pronounced Sa- aam) dunes. This is the closest place from where one can access 'the Great Thar Desert'. Camel safaris takes one across the dunes and one can feel the wilderness of the desert. As the tourists explore the desert, a camel cart driver and his son take a break and appear to be deep in thought. Link to comment

davidmccracken 2 Posted June 25, 2014 This is one of these images I don't know if I like or not. The post processing may be a little over done. It is if the characters in the foreground have been added later. I realise this comment is probably not helpful but I did click and felt I should say something. I think it is over saturated. I want to like it, but... Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 25, 2014 This is a wonderful and very real scene that now looks completely fake. It's your call whether that's what you want here or not. Link to comment
gregoryl 0 Posted June 26, 2014 It has impact but would be a much stronger image if the processing were redone. I thing the image itself is good but the HDR style processing calls attention to the the technique and away from the subject. It's created halos and over sharpening has created a white line around all the camel, cart, people and edge of the sand where it meets the sky. I think if you redid the processing it would be a very good image. Link to comment
subc 0 Posted June 27, 2014 Thanks Gregory for your critique. The processing of this image has been done separately for separate areas. The sky was treated with some clarity etc. while the sand and the camel are relatively untouched apart from some colour boosts. The human figures have some work done to render some detail in their clothing. The these were put in as layers and brushed in as required. The halos you notice around the camel and the figures are due to low opacity brushwork while masking. Oversharpening was done for web purposes only and there is some problem where the sky meets earth. David McCracken, Fred G. :This is the look I went for, as I was finding the original scene muted. Thanks Gerolamo Romano. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 582 Posted June 27, 2014 Love the expressive and artful treatment. You have made the scene your personal painting. Excellent work, Subhadip. Link to comment
