This is kind of like Hollywood Squares without Paul Lynde....but seriously, much of the appeal of this for me is that in almost every case the confines of the box are being challenged. It is like Beethoven trying to write in the models of his predecessors Mozart and Haydn...the ideas were too big, too bold, too strong to fit in the pre-existing framework. It had to break out.

I am not sure if we are supposed to have a favourite or favourites, however I do believe the top right is the one I like the most. 

Well, here we are, Mr Elstad - you've got them all boxed and I was thinking to dismantle the mechanism of shame one has to be at least somewhat sadistic as far as artistic integrity goes.

A most pleasant depiction of Tic-Tac-Toe.  Does it mean anything that only the middle box is reversed?  Or are the other eight?

I think the presentation deserves as much acclaim as the photographs, it gives an insight as to how they could be utilised as a set....for instance they would make unique novelty coasters!
