Sudden Fright

I have been rather quiet on PDN, so here is my first post after quite a few

months again :)

A pair of Zebras that got a fright from an approaching elephant.

Any Comments/suggestions appreciated

I think you have captured the drama of the moment really well.  I like the precieved movement with the dust kicking up and overall compostion which leaves just the right amount of space to the left. The only thing I can think of to enhance the image more is to maybe bring out more detail from the shadow on the face of the LH Zebra, although to be honest I'm struggling to find anything to suggest. It's a great photograph as it is!

Thank you very much for your comment and suggestion..... I personally do somehow feel that there is still something missing to make the image stand out more. I have tried increasing contrast, but it removes a great deal of that soft effect I was aiming for with the dust kicking up. I'll play around a bit to highlight the shadows on the left Zebras' face, maybe that will make the difference the image needs :)

For me anyways, that low angle from which you shot with that dark deep background above the Horizon, the long shadows and flying dust are what really make this photograph even more interesting.

I agree, it would be nice if you could "pull" some of the shadow from far Zebras nose but, still a very nice shot!
