Hi, I took this landscape on the English coast back in January.

The problem I have is that I find the sky very uninteresting, hence Icropped the picture using the format 16:9.

However, I am still unsure about the sky.... there is nothing going on.

Would you crop the sky even more, breaking the crop format? Thepicture would not work cropping left or right, it needs breath... butmaybe it is possible to crop down the top age to reduce the sky further.

What do you think of the composition and would you suggest a differentapproach?

Hi Francesco. I think the sky works fine with the starkness of the landscape. You can try taking a bit off the top moving the horizon up to 1/3 from the top of the frame. Overall, I think this is composed very well and looks very nice.  

Francesco, I scrolled the image up on my monitor, and I do think you could eliminate more of the blue sky.  I reduced the sky by about 50% and found that the pinks on the horizon became even more prominent, and that helped the sky considerably.  You might try a 2:1 aspect ratio and see how that works for you.

I think the crop ratio works well and I also think that the subtle colour gradation of the sky is appealing,

But perhaps a different approach would have been to take the photo from a slightly lower perspective, taking in more foreground and alleviating the necessity to crop the sky?
